Percorsi d’Italiano

Studying with Giuliana and Clelia encompasses much more than learning the Italian language. In fact, though I learned quickly and easily, it never felt like school. The instruction is centered around real life and can be adapted to exactly what you want to learn. I studied everything from politics to wine tasting and all the accompanying vocabulary needed to fully comprehend the subject. The Sunday walks are informative from both a cultural and language perspective; an added bonus is making new friends along the way. I would not hesitate to recommend Percorsi d’Italiano to anyone interested in learning the spoken language of the Italian people.

Percorsi has impressed me from day one. I have had individual lessons with Giuliana and it has been so much fun. She has taken me to the market to do shopping, she has taken me to historic buildings and sacred places and explained everything in a slow and simple manner. She has tailor made each and every lesson to my need.

I have had a couple of other Italian teachers too, and although they have also been good, Percorsi is just in a category of its own. It costs a little more per hour, but I get so much more out of each lesson. And I am sure that for every hour Giuliana spends with me, she spends one hour preparing for my next lesson and correcting my homework. So all in all I think Percorsi’s lessons are very reasonable. But even more important: The lessons are effective and make learning Italian great fun!

I was fortunate to be in Rome to take a very short part of the course, “The Voices of the Cinema” with Giammarco Raponi at Percorsi d’Italiano. The director of the school was kind enough to allow me to participate in three sessions, since I was in Rome only three weeks.

First of all, the films that Giammarco selected were excellent, and he made sure that I was able to view each one before attending class, either by DVD or streaming. The discussion in class was absorbing and at a high level, and I looked forward to being there to be involved with learning about classic movies. The interaction with Giammarco and other students was very important for my language learning, and I feel that I made great strides in even a short time – and the subject fascinated me.

When I left the course before it had finished, Giammarco gave me a list of the subsequent films in the series, so I now have my homework, literally.

This is an excellent course; I recommend it highly for a student of Italian, intermediary to advanced.

Buongiorno,

Ancora grazie !!!

I have taken many Italian classes in Italy and PERCORSI D'ITALIANO was by far the best school I attended. Their approach is very personalised, geared to the student's proficiency. I took individual classes and concluded that a class focusing on my needs is far better than the group classes I had taken previously, as the groups were rarely homogenous in their knowledge of Italian. Even the learning material is prepared according to the student's particular needs. Giuliana is an experienced, well organised and super competent teacher as well as a delightful person. The classes were pure joy and I learned so much. Even on the 'percorsi' walking tour/class, the focus is on learning new vocabulary and making stops to do simple exercises. I hope to return someday and continue perfecting my Italian in this effective and most enjoyable way. I highly recommend Percorsi d'Italiano to anyone looking for a great learning experience. If you are thinking about learning Italian or you already know some Italian you have come to the right place. I did an intensive one on one class over a week with Giuliana and it was amazing. She tailors the course to your level and challenges you the whole time. She asked me to prepare some ideas on a topic and then we had many interesting conversations in Italian. They were always challenging, and I learned so much. She’s very good at correcting you when necessary, but not correcting every single little thing that makes it impossible to talk. Not only did we work together in a classroom type environment, she took me out and I was able to go to a café and a market and a store and walk around Rome and really immerse myself with her while speaking Italian. I honestly can’t wait to do my next class with her.

Giuliana is an absolutely magnificent teacher. She is so patient, so kind, and so encouraging. I had lots of Italian grammar and vocabulary in my head, but I couldn’t speak a word of it. She gently helped me to be able to speak, and she really boosted my confidence. It is a real talent to be able to encourage and at the same time gently correct someone who is trying to learn a new language. she is a wonderful teacher.
